What’s in bee pollen?

Bee Pollen is a naturally formed product, made by bees from different flowers in different local environments and in different countries, so there will always be some natural variations in its composition.

We don’t do detailed micronutrient analysis of our own bee pollen, however there is lots of information available from people who have nutritional information about bee pollen :

Why do people take bee pollen?

Bee Pollen is one of nature’s great gifts, and has been long been valued for a host of nutritional and therapeutic benefits. It’s been hailed as a superfood - full of proteins, minerals, vitamins and amino acids.

People take bee pollen for all kinds of reasons, including (but not exclusively):

fighting allergies
anti-ageing
as an antioxidant
to balance hormones
boost the metabolism
raise energy levels
support a detox.

It must be noted that there are no specific EU-approved health claims for bee pollen, mainly because no-one has invested in big research projects to provide the evidence needed to back up specific health claims. However that hasn’t stopped lots of bee pollen advocates waxing lyrical about the benefits they believe bee pollen offers!

Where’s it from?

Bee Pollen can be found wherever there are honeybees, flowers and hives. However, the bee pollen we use to make Apibal is sourced exclusively from European beekeepers in Spain, France and Italy.
